About the artist
Upon receiving a BS degree in Art Education, I began a 13 year career as a public school art
teacher. I resigned my full time position as a teacher to become a full time mother. After my
children were grown, I had time to change the direction of my life again.
My love of art has always been an underlying drive in all I do. I returned to 2 dimensional art
and found myself drawn to the spirit and character in faces. While drawing portraits, my goal
has been to reflect the personality and inner beauty as well as the likeness of each person I
draw. Along with my original artwork, I also have prints of my most popular portraits. However,
commissioned work seems to be the most requested. My clients are thrilled to see their loved
ones in a fine art portrait.
I find graphite to be a very rewarding medium for my portraits. The absence of color allows the
essence of the person to surface. I just love to see that person take life on my paper.
Recently I have relocated to a small town in Central Pennsylvania where I plan to open a gallery so
my clients will to be able to view my work in a professional atmosphere.
